DIVE IN THE WORLD’S RICHEST AQUARIUM
If you love diving and would love to experience as much of the southern Baja SeaWorld as possible in one day, we recommend joining us on our “Ultimate Diving Experience in The World’s Richest Aquarium”, this unforgettable journey takes place at the Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, is a unique corner of the Pacific Ocean.
We will start the journey in Cabo San Lucas, and head towards Todos Santos, a lovely colorful village just 45 minutes from Cabo. There we will stop for a delicious breakfast at the famous Todos Santos Café, the first café in town. After the breakfast we will drive towards La Paz. At the Marina Don Jose in La Paz, La Paz guests will join us, the Sun Rider crew will fit you with dive equipment, and we will embark one of our new 33-foot catamarans, on the way to explore the rich underwater world of the Sea of Cortez.
Our host of the day will be Espiritu Santo Island, a UNESCO protected natural reserve, with turquoise blue bays, red wind shaped rock formations, a colony of sea lions and birds, and of course, the abundant sea world. Because of its reach sea life, the most famous under sea explorer in the 20th century
Jacques Cousteau, named Sea of Cortez the world’s richest aquarium - and you will be able to confirm his claim yourself. Diving in the waters of the Sea of Cortez is truly amazing.
We have thoroughly explored the island and selected several favorite diving sites; on each trip we choose where to stop for a dive, depending on weather conditions, the currents and underwater visibility, in order to provide you the most unforgettable diving experience. On our trip we will make two dives at two different diving locations.
Some of our favorite diving stops are: Los Islotes, El Bajo, Swanee Reef, Salvatierra (with a sunken boat), Fang Ming (first artificial reef to be intentionally sunk in Latin America), Cañonero C-54 (sunken boat), Lapas 03 (sunken boat), La Reyna (The Queen).
DID YOU KNOW?
The Sea of Cortez is a remarkable young sea, is thought to be around five million years old and home to nearly 900 species of fish and the widest variety of whales and dolphins found anywhere on Earth.
